Angela Vithoulkas of VIVO Cafe Group recently appeared in a Sky Channel program on the Telstra Businesswomen’s Awards. The TV program featured Peter Switzer, one of Australia’s leading business and financial commentators , and Kate McKenzie, Telstra Businesswomen’s Awards Ambassador. Angela has travelled around Australia this year with Peter Switzer presenting to hundreds of small business owners for the Commonwealth Bank Small Business Forums.
Angela won the Telstra New South Wales 2007 Women’s Business Owner Award and was asked to add her thoughts and experiences of the Telstra Awards to the interview with Kate McKenzie.
Angela encouraged everyone who is eligible to enter the awards as it is a process which changes your life and can really make a difference to you and your business. She said that women who are involved in the Telstra Awards end up discovering things about themselves and their business which they would never have realised otherwise.
Relating the awards to a ‘journey of discovery’ Angela discussed the wonderful effects the awards has had on her business as well as herself. Women who enter the businesswomen’s awards are effectively bringing substance to the many years of hard work and experience that a life running a business brings. She says it is like a ‘pat on the back’ and a culmination of their business life.
Angela enjoyed the chance to meet Kate McKenzie and noted that she is a worthy ambassador to the awards as she obviously believes in them. Angela says that Kate, along with the wonderful sponsors, will ensure the continuing success of the Telstra Awards.
