About Luke Martin

Luke Martin is an eight year veteran of the National Basketball League, and is a two-time champion as a member of the Sydney Kings teams in 2003/04 and 2004/05. In addition to Sydney, Luke has also played in Cairns, Melbourne and Wollongong.

As a member of the Sydney Kings leadership team, Luke takes his role as a role model and ambassador for the sport seriously.  As a child Luke struggled with chronic asthma, and spent a significant amount of time in hospital as a result. Having overcome this to succeed as a professional athlete, Luke is now an ambassador for the Sydney Children’s Hospital, in an effort to raise awareness and funds.

Luke’s mantra through life is that “tough times don't last, tough people do”, and Luke is surely living this every day.

Luke’s Career Highlights

Owns two championship rings as a member of the Sydney Kings from the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons.

Was a member of the Hawks team that advanced to the 2010 NBL Grand Final.

Polled third in voting for the 2003 NBL Rookie of the Year award.
